I painted Midsummer because I wanted to truly capture how this time in the season feels to me.
It feels cozy in a nostalgic way - the feeling of watching fireworks on your grandparent’s porch knowing you have half the summer left to dream, lightning bugs flickering, while the zinnias bloom in gardens, fields, and corners. I hope this painting captures a similar feeling for you too.
