About the business & the artist!

How it started

My name is Emily! I started Emmy Lucy Co. when I was in college, doing the occasional commission here and there.

I went to college for Elementary education/Special education. I taught for two years, but ultimately decided to pursue my business full-time July of 2023. After that, I worked through my Etsy shop, took part in local markets, and poured into my business. August 2024, I was able to open my own website! I view this as truly such a blessing from God. I’m so grateful that this is my full-time job, and that I get to make brides happy! Thank you so much for your support!

I can pinpoint when I started loving to paint. It was second grade art class, painting Claude Monet’s Cliff Walk at Pourville…I realized I kind of liked this! I really started painting as a hobby in high school, when I was about 15 years old or so. I would paint in my free time on the floor of my bedroom! I started dabbling with watercolor (my preferred medium now), but back then, I much preferred acrylics until I was able to practice with watercolors consistently. I am currently 26 years old, so it has been 11 years of working and experimenting with watercolor that has gotten me here!

I am not the only artist out there who paints wedding bouquets, and I certainly don’t claim the idea as mine! But I am proud to say, I feel like I have found my own unique style in what I do. I am proud to offer this service as a way to preserve your bouquet. I genuinely love and am so grateful that this is my job, and that ultimately I can make brides happy! It brings me so much joy.

More about the artist

I am married to my husband Noah, and live about 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, PA! I am so grateful for his love and support as I jumped into artistry full time!

I love a cozy workspace. I often have a cup of coffee on my desk or a candle lit. My favorite thing is when the sunlight shines in on my desk in the morning (as seen below). It’s a short window of time, but makes for such pretty photos!

My comfort show is Gilmore Girls- I’ve seen it 4x through now! (I like to start it in the fall because it gives those fall vibes, you know?) I love reading, and have recently been listening to audiobooks while painting! It’s such a great way to get my reading in while I’m busy!

“The painting was so beautiful and the time and effort that she put into every detail was incredible!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a personalized, once in a lifetime gift!”
